🚨 Firmware Update Best Practices & Disclaimer

Updating firmware is generally a safe process when performed correctly, but precautions must be taken to protect your equipment. Most of the time the NVR or Camera will reject incorrect firmware but it is still advised to be cautious.

• Stable Power Source: Ensure your device is connected to a reliable power outlet or uninterrupted power supply (UPS recommended) during the entire process.
• DO NOT Interrupt Power: Never disconnect power, turn off, or unplug a device while a firmware update is actively in progress.
• Network Connection: A wired Ethernet connection is ideal for network updates, but a strong, stable Wi-Fi connection is fine as well—just ensure there are no dropouts during the transfer.
• Verify Exact Model Compatibility: Verify your devices model number first before applying the update, make sure you select your correct NVR when downloading the firmware.
• Extract Archived Files: If the downloaded firmware is inside a .zip file, extract the raw .bin file before uploading it to your system (guide on unzipping files).
